Andrea Ríos was born in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. She studied contemporary dance at the professional dance school: Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey.
Diversity of Experiences
After graduating, she worked with Cuerpo Etéreo and Sunny Savoy Dance Company, two renowned independent contemporary dance companies from Monterrey, while obtaining her bachelor degree in Hispanic Studies. She was one of the 35 pre-selected dancers (out of more than 200) in CEPRODAC a nation wide call for contemporary dancers in Mexico; she received the Best Dancer award in Festival del Baile ITESM 2010, and she got several fellowships to dance and develop artistic projects in Montréal, Canada. Since 2012 she founded Body in U a platform for artistic projects that foster empathy between human beings. In this platform she works as the director, producer, choreographer and dancer.Currently she is collaborating as a dancer with the directors Daphna Miro, Callie Chapman, and Jeff Grantz while studying theatre at Emerson College.
